#nedratawwab has done it again! Her first book #SetBoundariesFindPeace is a must read for those looking to understand acceptance and healing by placing healthy boundaries on relationships that have been the source of dysfunction and chaos in your life。I became a huge fan of Nedra after reading this book and began following her and her daily #nedranugget on social media。 I was one of the lucky ones chosen to receive an early digital copy of her #DramaFree book to be released February 28th。 It did #nedratawwab has done it again! Almost every chapter touched on a subject that caused dysfunction in my life。 Nedra’s storytelling uses examples from her life as a therapist and her personal life。 These insightful examples made it easy to see myself as the subject being discussed。 This book helped me to define the unhealthy relationships that were holding me back from being a free, happy, well-balanced woman - both mentally and emotionally。 All my time and efforts had been spent on trying to fix the other person。 Boundaries taught me how to set boundaries to break the unhealthy cycles in my life。 Drama Free takes it to the next level。 It has taught me acceptance on how not to remain a prisoner of my past。 How to not feel guilt for breaking the cycle of dysfunction by leaving unhealthy relationships behind。 It’s never too late to begin making choices that heal and create positive self-growth by facing the dysfunctional relationships that created drama in your life and reversing their effects。 Drama Free shows how this can be done in guilt-free fashion that leads to a new chapter in your life of how to heal and grow independently。 Here is an excerpt that speaks volumes to how we can move away from drama and begin a healthier new you:“Adulthood allows you the freedom to create a life for vourself outside of what vou were taught (or not taught)。 You are now in the driver's seat。 You are parenting yourself。Therefore, nurture yourself and fill in the missing parts。 Add relationships that enhance your existence。 Refuse to be imprisoned by your past。”I highly recommend Drama Free。 It is my new self-help “go-to” book to keep me motivated while focusing on my own mental and emotional wellbeing。 It was my favorite gift to send this past year。 Here’s a link to purchase:https://a。co/d/4wsncIi 。。。more

Disclaimer: I received an early copy of this book in exchange for an honest review。 I was not required to give it a positive review。 In Nedra Glover Tawwab’s new book, she takes her work on boundaries to the next step: how to maintain relationships with people in our lives with whom we have difficult relationships。 The premise of the book is that very often, our boundaries are not because we want to end relationships with people in our lives, but that we want to find ways to keep those relations Disclaimer: I received an early copy of this book in exchange for an honest review。 I was not required to give it a positive review。 In Nedra Glover Tawwab’s new book, she takes her work on boundaries to the next step: how to maintain relationships with people in our lives with whom we have difficult relationships。 The premise of the book is that very often, our boundaries are not because we want to end relationships with people in our lives, but that we want to find ways to keep those relationships without doing harm to ourselves。 In her practical voice, she offers examples of situations where this is necessary or important, and tips for how one might respond in these situations。 She offers recognition that there are stages to making change, and it takes time to move from contemplating change to implementing it。 As always, Nedra uses simple, clear language to help us process a very complicated topic, while continuing to offer us empathy for whatever stage we are at。“Even though you’ve changed, from time to time you might revisit your former thoughts or former behaviors。 When that happens, greet yourself in the present with grace and understanding。 It’s hard to overcome patterns, and it’s challenging to avoid lapsing into old behaviors。 Know that you might not always get it right。” 。。。more

Once again, Nedra hits the nail on the head with direct, honest, and concise advice for dealing with challenging family relationships。 Honestly, I find a lot of this applicable to relationships with friends and chosen family。 A great guidebook to managing family relationships and a complementary tool to assist one’s own therapeutic journey。

Do you struggle with any family relationships? Nedra has you covered in this book。Biggest takeaway is you can’t change others, only yourself。 And being sick and tired of something may just be when you are ready to change (or not)。 You get to decide。 Nedra is there along the way, explaining and proving helpful script options that you can use to open some conversation, or, alternatively shut them down。 This will be revisited and highlighted when it is officially out!
